Arabian Automobiles Company, the exclusive dealer for INFINITI in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, unveiled last year the completely redesigned QX60 to the region. For MY2017, the model features additional enhancements that are aimed at empowering the driver with a more premium experience – a model that redefines vehicle safety with cutting edge technologies.
Making its UAE debut, the 2017 seven-passenger SUV features a state-of-the-art suite of safety features that offers customers a unique combination of comfort, control and security.
The QX60 features advanced technologies from the front to the rear of the vehicle that help drivers to safely navigate the busy motorways and prevent collisions from all angles. Predictive Forward Collision Warning – a highly attuned system that continuously monitors not only the vehicle directly ahead but the one ahead of that as well – provides alerts and tightens the driver’s seat belt if potential risks are detected. The QX60 also has your back, with a Backup Collision Intervention system that warns drivers when reversing of vehicles approaching the rear of the car, and helps to avoid accidents by applying the brakes. Those safety features serve to heighten driver awareness and speed reaction times during peak traffic hours, allowing for a confident drive at any time of day.

Volkswagen has pulled the wraps off a new four-door fastback that will replace the flopped $78,000 Phaeton luxury sedan as its namesake brand’s flagship model in a bid to change the conversation about the company to cars from crisis.
The Arteon, featuring options for front-wheel and all-wheel drive, will be available first in Europe, with deliveries in Germany starting this month. The car, whose price has yet to be announced, targets buyers wanting the comfortable, upscale ride of models like Mercedes-Benz’s CLS coupe but at a lower cost.
VW ended production of the Phaeton almost a year ago and has been working ever since to introduce a vehicle that costs more than the mid-sized Passat sedan and station wagon but isn’t positioned too far above the brand’s usual mass-market segment. The Arteon is part of a general product overhaul to revive profit as the German automaker continues to wrestle with the fallout from the diesel-emissions cheating scandal that emerged in late 2015.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to support the ‘Read to Succeed’ campaign, fronted by Nick Gibb, MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton and Minister of State for School Standards. The significant donation by Rolls-Royce concludes the campaign target to provide a book to every year 4 pupil – over 1000 children – in Mr Gibb’s constituency, to enjoy over the summer holidays.
The books in the scheme have been specifically chosen by schools and libraries to appeal to year 4 students (8-9 years old), which is the age that most students start to read independently for the first time. The books selected cover a wide range of abilities and interests so all children can enjoy the magic of reading. Each book also includes a token for the child to take to their local library to sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Challenge, which runs across the country. Participants in the scheme will be having the chance to win exciting prizes for themselves and their classmates.

How a car’s lover cannot be tempted when he can grab a Volvo V90 T6? H.Soukar takes a closer look…
I must be dreaming. Driving such luxurious yet powerful vehicle as the Volvo V90 is a real dream, to say the least! And if this sounds too fantastic to be true, then I am one of the lucky ones enjoying the ultimate driving adventure of this amazing wagon.
A 3-day-long drive across the UAE is a real treat. As each day passes, the roads become increasingly entertaining. A few laps of the track make it clear that the engine of this car is smooth and refined and has proper, rock-steady push once the big turbo is spooled up. After 15 minutes or so, my conclusion is pretty straightforward: this is a very impressive piece of engineering.

Rolls-Royce has announced the Mayfair location for ‘The Great Eight Phantoms’ – A Rolls-Royce Exhibition. The exhibition will take place at Bonhams on Bond Street, London, the heart of the luxury world. Rolls-Royce also announced that the third Great Phantom to join the exhibition will be Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Phantom II Continental.
Need for speed: Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Phantom II
At the height of his pursuit of a new land speed record in the 1930’s, Sir Malcolm Campbell began a relationship with Rolls-Royce that would take him to glory and help him celebrate it.
At the end of 1932 Campbell had won prestigious Grand Prix races, broken the land speed world record not once but six times, and had been knighted by King George V. He had nothing left to prove. He was the fastest man on land and yet, as restless as ever, he wanted to take a crack at the 300mph barrier, the automotive equivalent of the four-minute mile. He believed that the only engine that could power his Blue Bird to this speed was a 36.5L Rolls-Royce R aero engine, which generated a staggering 2,300 horsepower.
